Back To Libya

Just a few days left , and I am going back to Libya , It has been the best 6 months in my life here with my sister's family in Canada ...

I had the chance to meet the sweet baby Leen , watch her growing for 2 and a half months , to see her first smile , her first crying ...

I had the chance to spend great time with my dear sis , and her nice husband , who they were so nice to me and never let me feel I am far away from home ...

I had the chance to see the nice city Toronto ,Enjoy the civilization, the fresh air , the happy nice and polite people , and for a moment to forget all the Qibli and the hard life in Libya , the sad , angry and depressed faces in the street , the مجاري that u can see in every street in Benghazi , the people that talk so laud in the street (بوجاا يا بوجاااا) , yeah all that crap ! ...

I had the chance to see the snow for the first time in my life , touch it , and for a moment to forget all the dust and Qibli i sow in Libya ..

I had the chance ..... to be in Canada for 6 months .

And now , going back to Libya , missing Mum and dad and my other sis and bro , and Floppy of course ...

So just to remember , Libya , Libyan , and life in Libya , here are some lines , about us , Libyan ppl :

YOU KNOW YOUR LIBYAN:

1. You're wearing this shirt (reppin this list)... Saga3 3alaik!!

2. Your friend can throw a shibshib farther than Donovan McNabb can throw a football...

3. You're traumitized every time you see an 3asaa, shibshib, or tubu...

4. You say ga3miz for sit...

5. Everything you do is classified as 3abe...

6. You're talking to Libya or just a Libyan in general and the whole street heard your conversation... ALOOOOO LIBYA...

7. You know what a felga is... and you found out the hard way...

8. If you don't have your trusty darbooka on you... you turn everything into one...

9. You do something wrong, your parents threaten that they'll send you back to Libya...

10. You've had more than your share of Inharik Aswid...

11. Couscousi and Macroona are everyday meals...

12. You're on vacation, you cook macroona jarya (imbukibka) in your hotel room ..

13. You do something wrong, the first thing that comes to your mind is Taya7 Sa3dik... Inharik Ahrif 3ala rasik

14. You are somehow related to or know every other Libyan alive...

15. Your ears perk when you hear the words tamam, meeya meeya, and kharaf...

16. Your family is going through depression when theyre low on tun and hareesa...

17. A wedding isn't complete without playing Majrooda and Zamzamat...

18. You constantly reply... " Te bahiii... digeegaa"...

19. You feel 9 months pregnant... its only bazeen...

20. Your social existance consists of gurma over shahee...

21. Your mother tells you...fi 3anik... for everything she disagrees with or finds ubsurd...

22. You make your own food for your daughters wedding... instead of letting the hall cater their food... and you have a buffet line... instead of waiters

23. Eating out is foreign to your parents... shin hadi makla el barra... khiii... muskheen...

24. Your friend tells you to guess what... and the first thing that comes to your libyan brain is OMG YOUR ENGAGED!!! MABROOK.

It is funny how you feel right at home when you are far from (HOME)..I think ity is called (Being alienated in your own country)
It is strange how we feel estranged and alienated in our home country..
The loud voices?tell me about it..All people around you shouts or at least (whesper) in a loud way..And if you (DARE) to speak in a low volume and say(Excuse me),well,,you know what i mean..
Any way...I couldn't help but laugh my brains out over the list of how to identify a libyan...Very funny and true...
Hope your trip home will be safe and sound..And there will be no Ghebli:)
Welcome back
Regards

thank u both ghiriani and anglo , yes I had a safe trip , all went fine , but In Tripoli I waited 9 hours for the flight , coz it was canceled , so imagine that !!! it was a very hard trip for me , and just when u arrive to Libya , and u see how the ppl treat u , I just felt like I am less that an animal , really so sad to see the different and feel it after u see the nice side of the world , u just feel : you are sad to be a Libyan , So anglo coz u live in London u can say u are proud to be a Libyan , but If u live here , u would not say this, and u would be sad to be a Libyan !

Dear highlander thank u for ur nice comment , I will say there is one thing that we Arab are good at , it is TALKING , and this is why we will never get out of the
3rd world , So if I will tell u that u are right and ppl like me can make Libya a nice place , I would be lying to u , coz none of us has the guts to do any thing but talking ...
So here we all are talking and talking for years now in this blogs site , and tell me , just tell me , have u ever seen something different in Libya in the past decades !!!!!!
